Allegheny County Jail Watch is a volunteer project dedicated to tracking human rights abuses at our local jail. It started with livetweeting the monthly meetings of the Allegheny County Jail Oversight Board, but soon there was too much to say to keep it limited to twitter threads. One blog post led to another, and here we are. 

The project exists in kind of a weird space between activism and journalism and Jail Watch doesn't claim to be neutral. But it does strive for accuracy, and we do our best to fact check everything and provide thorough citations.
